Our team USA shined like no other in their representation at the World Championship of Artistic Gymnastics in Doha, Qatar that was being held between the dates October 25 and November 3. Simone Bile, Samuel Mikulak, Morgan Hurd, yul Moldauer, Riley McCusker, Akash Modi, Kara Eaker, Alec Yoder, Grace McCallum, Colin Van Wicklen, Ragan Smith and Allan Bower were the names that made us fill our hearts with much pride and happiness when being called in each of their presentations.

At the end of the contest, our champions made the USA the most successful country when bringing home nine medals. The first place in the women’s team rankings and the fourth in the men’s teams.

However, without a doubt, the queen of this world cup was Simone Biles whose achievements were echoed around the world to show us as never before her commitment and passion with gymnastics.

The first highlight of the competition was the beginning, before she was admitted to the hospital due to chronic pain in the right abdominal area. This resulted in her coach suspecting that it could have been a problem with her appendix and took her to get checked and see what was happening.

Biles was in the hospital until 1:00 a.m., the day when competitions initiated because of a kidney stone Although he accepted that she felt pain, the adrenaline of the competition was his best ally to go ahead and make his presentations; a sample of his incredible tenacity.

Simone Biles simply amazed us all with her achievements in the competition, becoming the first woman in obtaining four world titles and the first woman in 31 years to get a medal in each event. Furthermore, she also set a new record winning more world career titles than any gymnast in the history of this sport; male or female.

Biles also led the woman’s gymnastics team from the U.S. to the team championship and secured her spot at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Nearly everyone from television stars to music artists, Olympic gold medalists as well as colleagues revolutionized the internet by sharing their praise of Simone, not only confirming their place in the history of gymnastics but of our country.

Thanks Doha! Thank you for leaving us and incredible World Championship, thank you for leaving us incredible teams and thank you for those brilliant athletes whose successes, contributions and achievements will mark a whole generation of gymnasts.

Lastly, thank you Doha for letting us be filled with inspiring stories and with pride filled by our great team: Team USA, we love you. They made us tremble, cry, laugh and enjoy like never before. Until the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
